Oppo Band Style

Display: 1.1″ AMOLED | Battery: 6-10 days | Charging method: Proprietary wired | IP rating: 5ATM | Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0 | SpO2 : Yes

Crisp display
SPo2 monitor that actually works
Two straps in the box
Poor battery life
Costlier than competition

The Oppo Band is Oppo’s first attempt in the budget fitness tracker segment and it almost comes close to being a perfect one. The star of the show is the AMOLED display, a dozen sports modes, and also the SpO2 monitor that actually works. However, it is priced slightly higher than the competition and the battery life is only average.

The heart rate and sleep trackers are also pretty accurate. One thing that surprised us was the SpO2 monitor which actually works without any hassle. The SpO2 monitor is capable of tracking all-day blood oxygen level and it actually works 9 out of 10 times.

Apart from the fitness features, there’s the usual slew of smart features for a band that includes notifications mirroring, music control, silent/reject calls, and camera shutter. The Oppo Band is also capable of tracking swimming thanks to the 5ATM water-resistant rating. As a bonus, you also get a free additional strap in the box.

Redmi Smart Band

Compatibility: iOS and Android | Display: LCD | Battery: 7 days | Charging method: Built-in USB | IP rating: 5 ATM | Connectivity: Bluetooth 5 | SpO2 : No

Affordable price
Light and comfy
Fairly good tracking
Heart rate monitor
Bad touch response
Inconsistent battery life
Finicky charging

Expanding the product portfolio, Redmi entered the fitness wearable market recently with its Redmi Smart Band. The Redmi Smart Band offers a comfortable fit and there is a solid colour LCD screen with a fairly big 1.08-inch screen size. It supports touch and gesture support with a capacitive button. The touch response is not so great but will get the job done more often than not.

The heart rate tracking and sleep tracking metrics were pretty accurate too. You can also get notifications on the Band from multiple apps. The Redmi Smart Band gets the basics right – steps, sleep, heart rate, and even basic notifications. It looks pretty stylish too. It lives up to the expectations, and the price tag of Rs 1,599 is the icing on the cake.
